The recently released teaser trailer for Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel Prometheus is really getting me super excited. Check out some screen grabs and the trailer below :
(above and below) I really like how some of the set and production design is staying consistent with the original Alien film, with more of an utilitarian feel rather than your usual sleek, high concept look meant to impress.
And how can I fail to mention the space suits, originally designed by French illustrator Moebius for Alien, or the super structures conceptualized by H.R Giger ? They definitely bring back some of the beautiful organic shapes and curves missing since the first film.

It doesn’t get any better than Sir Ridley Scott doing science fiction.

correction: it doesn’t get any better than Ridley Scott doing science fiction in the early to mid eighties. though preeeeetttty skeptical about this, this does look at least a little promising.

Hands down my most anticipated film since Fellowship of the Ring. It’s going to be a visual masterpiece.
Do you know who is working on the FX?

Really looking forward to this one, more so than Dark Knight Rises !
King Raoh – From what I’m seeing on IMDB the main vendors seem to be Weta Digital and MPC. They both churn out great work so I think we’re well covered. :]

I wonder: did Moebius work on the designs of Prometheus, as he did on Alien??
