Prometheus – Peter Weyland’s 2023 TED Talk

Posted By yonghow on March 10th, 2012

This has been floating round the net for a little while now but its so brilliant I wanted to share with those who might have missed it – Peter Weyland’s rousing speech at TED Talk 2023 :

I adore well executed viral campaigns like these because they expand the cinematic universe of the films, making it a richer and more immersive viewing experience. For those familiar with Ridley Scott’s original Alien ( and also James Cameron’s fantastic sequel ), Weyland forms one half of the giant conglomerate Weyland-Yutani for which Ripley was an employee of. The giant atmosphere generators found in Aliens are also a patent of the company.

The filmmaker’s idea of using TED Talk as a literal platform for Weyland’s appearance also provide an added sense of realism and relevance to our world. I very often visit TED for inspiring and often enlightening speeches by some amazing and incredibly smart people.
