Visual effects studio ILM ( Industrial Light & Magic ) has just posted an in-depth VFX making of article on the boar hunt sequence from Sam Raimi’s thriller film ‘Send Help’, which I was delighted to be a part of at ILM Vancouver last fall.
I was tasked with the lighting work on the CGI version of the wild boar. While most of the heavy lifting was already accomplished by the lead lighting artist ( Erick Salazar ), I was still happy to be able to work on all the shots of the boar that appears in the film after he departed the project, leaving me as the sole VFX artist in charge of all tasks involving lighting/rendering.

And here’s an interesting ‘Behind The Scenes’ video on the shooting of the boar hunt-
A few shots of the gnarly boar that I worked on ( #VFX lighting ) at ILM for Sam Raimi's 'SEND HELP', taken from the Grindhouse style trailer released a while back. I got to work on all the shots of the CGI boar that appears in the film. Creature VFX is always fun ! ? pic.twitter.com/7AVYq9FgDN
