Yoshitaka Amano is an art book published by the Japanese magazine Illustration, a special volume focusing on the iconic work of the famed artist/character/costume designer.
The contents of the book isn’t meant to be expansive but rather provides a good overview of Amano-san’s wide gamut of work, from his early Final Fantasy illustrations to his recent contemporary art pieces.
(above) The book also includes Amano-san’s conversation with another Japanese artist Aquirax – some of his work can be seen in the art book Japanese Erotica In Contemporary Art.

A great introduction to the work of Yoshitaka Amano for those who are relatively new to his work, at an affordable price. Recommended.

bruno – I can’t say I’m familiar enough with Amano-san’s work to recommend which is best, although I do know this one is pretty popular –

i learned trough the years to love his tyle. I wasn’t a big fan of his work but after watching Vampire Hunter D my opinion about him chanched completly.
