Tokyo Cityscape Aoyama-dori

Some photos of my walk around Aoyama-dori back in November. Autumn’s a great time for some leisurely strolls in the city because the weather’s cool and pleasant.

I decided to get off at JR Harajuku station, cut through the swanky Omotesando area before heading down Aoyama-dori. ( below ) The giant Apple store at Gaienmae, close to Omotesando station.

(above) This curious looking house is almost entirely covered by creeping plants. Looks like Tokyo doesn’t need to experience an apocalypse for nature to reclaim back some of its structures.

Some mouth-watering curry buns at Tenma ( meaning sky/heavenly horse ). I had in mind to double back here for a taste but ended up stuffing myself full of Belgian Waffles at another shop later in the evening. Next time perhaps.

The smaller streets branching off the main road are full of interesting shops and curious sights. ( below) The cute little handwritten sign on the window of this bookstore reads “We’ve stocked up on cat mangas !” Because the world always need more cat mangas.

(above & below) The row of Gingko trees at Aoyama Itchome that turns into a stunning row of bright yellow hue in late autumn ( I was about a month early ). The two walkways below the trees are often used as shooting locations in Japanese dramas.
