The Art Of Bob Peak Book Review アート オブ ボブ・ピーク

Bob Peak ( 1927-1992 ) was an American commercial illustrator. He is best known for his developments in the design of the modern movie poster.

This extensive art book features a huge collection of both his personal and commercial illustrations, including Time and TV Guide covers as well as dozens of film posters for movies like Superman, Apocalypse Now, Star Trek – The Wrath Of Khan and many more.

This book looks to me to be a Japanese translated edition of an original English edition, but very likely now out of print ( I could not find any on Amazon.com ). Some additional information on the artist’s works in English would have been nice, but since my main interest is the art work this doesn’t really bother me that much.

Running close to almost 400 pages of art work, this expansive book is an excellent way to enjoy Bob Peak’s beautiful illustrations. Highly recommended.

Wow…I never realized he did the art for the posters for the first four STAR TREK movies!
