The regrettable absence of a white Christmas continues for a consecutive 3rd year year in Vancouver, where the winter has been unusually mild. Here’s a perfunctory picture of the giant Christmas tree put up in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery every year in downtown, although they’ve added a nice giant ‘VANCOUVER’ sign this year.
My workplace ILM Vancouver (image below) is also all ready for the holidays.
Thank you for so much for visiting Halcyon Realms in 2025. It has been a very creatively fulfilling year for me having worked on a good number of projects including Kpop Demon Hunters, Percy Jackson S2, Sam Raimi’s Send Help and I’m just about finished with the VFX work on the upcoming Spider-Noir series.
I’m looking forward to taking a short breather before and I also have my annual ‘Favorite Art Books of 2025’ post which will be coming very soon, so stay tuned. Be sure to check out my favorite lists from previous years here as well.

Merry Christmas to you and yours! Been looking up your reviews ever since I started collecting Hellboy / Mignolaverse 4 months ago (and hardcovers too in this day and age). Imagine my surprise to see that you are a local as well 🙂 Any plans on reviewing Joe Golem in the future? They just announced Volume 2 of Hellboy Secret Histories so I’m very excited about that. Here’s to more outstanding entries in 2026!
