During the recent State Of Play event organized by Sony to showcase their latest games on the Playstation 5 console, the reveal trailer for Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding 2 was revealed, the sequel to the highly acclaimed 2019 Death Stranding. Check it out below –

Now, full disclaimer – despite having played and also quite enjoyed the first Death Stranding game, I still haven’t the foggiest idea what Death Stranding actually mean or refer to, although that clearly did not stop me from having fun on the game. Looking at the trailer, it feels like Hideo Kojima has ramped the weirdness of the already bizarre universe, but the visuals are looking very strong indeed. The game is using DECIMA, the same engine that Guerilla Games is using for Horizon Forbidden West.

The game is slated for a 2025 release date, so it’s still a ways out, but I definitely recommend checking out the art book for the first game, with some really beautiful concept art and creature/character designs by the famous MGS concept artist Yoji Shinkawa. ( image below ).
