Update Dec 2022 – A 4K release by Criterion is now available as well.
So very thrilled to see this arrive in the mail today – Criterion’s Blu-ray boxset for Krzysztof Kieslowski’s magnum opus Three Colors – Blue White Red. Here are some pictures of the box contents –
(above) The 78 pages booklet with director/cinematographer interviews.
(above) Interview with DP Slawomir Idziak, who also shot Kieslowski’s The Decalogue and The Double Life of Veronique. Andrew Niccol’s masterpiece Gattaca, which had a really big impact on me, was also photographed by him.
Can’t wait to watch all three films in their HD glory, as well as the extras on the discs.

One of the most influential pieces of cinema ever. This trilogy is one reason I wanted to become a filmmaker. The shades of themes evolved in these films is riveting. Can’t wait to get mine. Blue, White and Red. Haunting pieces of cinema.

Great set. I have it, too.
Fyi: The first run of the “white” disc was flawed. There was an encoding problem resulting in the audio missing a surround channel.
Criterion’s issuing an exchange program.
“Good news!
We are glad to report we’ve received the corrected WHITE
disc. We will be exchanging the Blu-ray discs directly from our New
York office. Please send your WHITE disc, disc only please, to my
attention at the address below. With the disc, please include your
email address and postal address. Please do not include any
packaging with your disc. When we receive your disc, we will send you
the corrected copy and a $10 gift certificate to Criterion.com! Thank
you for your patience while we were sorting out this audio
issue! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, and thank
you for supporting Criterion!

Mr. Sifuentes – I couldn’t agree more. Enjoying the films so much !
justme – Thank you so much for the information. I just checked the audio on my White disc and it seems fine, I think. I’m guessing mine is probably not the first run, but if issues come up later I’ll be sure to send it in for an exchange.
Thanks again ! :]
