N.C ( Newell Convers, 1882-1945 ) Wyeth was an American artist and illustrator, and the father of Andrew Wyeth, yet another great American artist, renowned for his painting Christina’s World.
A prolific artist during his time, N.C. Wyeth created more than 3,000 illustrations over the course of his career. This book collects some of his best work from The Last of the Mohicans, The Mysterious Stranger, Robin Hood, Robinson Crusoe, Rip Van Winkle, The Boy’s King Arthur, and more.
I particularly enjoy his fantasy illustrations, like those from King Arthur, some of which remind me of paintings from the Neoclassicism movement.
On a technical note, I wish the reproductions could be of higher quality ( most of them are quite soft ) and the print size bigger ( the art work doesn’t quite fill the entire page ). All that said, this is still a great collection of the artist’s work at an affordable price. Recommended.

Beautiful work. I can see Moebius was a bit inspired by him.

Dover’s art collection has pretty bad reproductions and there are books about Wyeth with better images… Too bad.
Moebius knew very well Wyeth’s work and used tome technique for Giraud’s illustrations – more than Moebius.
