Issue number 45 ( 2018 ) of the Japanese art magazine Illustration Note ( イラストノート ) is a special feature on illustrator/comic artist Eisaku Kubonouchi. Eisaku has a strong following on twitter and has been in the spotlight with the release of his art book, as well as his character design work for the recent Hungry Days Nissin Cup Noodle commercials.
The magazine includes selected highlights of his art work and illustrations, an interview, character design sheets from the Nissin Cup Noodle Hungry Days commercials and more.
(above) Photographs of the artist’s workspace/atelier are always fascinating to me and is something I always look out for in artist features like this one.
A fantastic coverage on one of the top illustrators working in Japan today. Magazines like this one and Illustration are great for spotting the latest talents in the Japanese illustration industry. Recommended.

Is this magazine full of words/interviews or balance with pictures and words?

anonymouse007 – It’s an illustration magazine, so there are more pictures and images than text. :]

Sorry for not being on topic, but just curious if others are having issues ordering artbooks from Amazon Japan now? It seems to be quite suddenly that they won’t deliver anime artbooks in particular to my US address.

CE – Yes, something seems to be going on. Items that were previously shippable overseas are now showing as unshippable. I’m currently investigating the reason. Thanks for the heads up.
Update 04/10 – I’ve just contact Amazon Japan and customer service told me that they’ve restricted global shipping temporarily, for reasons they did not specify. I hope they lift this restriction very soon. I’ll be checking periodically for updates.

Thanks so much for checking on this and getting to the bottom of it! Much appreciated!
I hope they get back up and running again soon because for all of us who like to support our favorite Japanese/Asian artists and creative types, Amazon Japan has been an essential source.
