Final Fantasy XIV - Heavensward Art Book Review ファイナルファンタジーXIV

Final Fantasy XIV : Heavensward | The Art of Ishgard – Stone and Steel is the official art book for Square Enix’s first expansion pack for FF XIV. This volume features art work from Heavensward as well as additional material from patches 2.4 and 2.5.

Art Of Eorzea artist Akihiko Yoshida ( image above ) is also involved in Heavensward, although he is credited under the “special thanks” section and not together with the other character designers; some on the roster include Tetsu Tsukamoto, Kazuya Takahashi and Tsubasa Masao.

The book is filled with an almost dizzying amount of art work, including poster illustrations, plenty of character design sheets with different costumes, set and environment designs and more. All the accompanying captions for the art work are in both Japanese and English.

This volume will appeal greatly to fans of FF XIV, and is also an excellent resource for designers looking for references and ideas on fantasy character/costume designs.

If you’re a fan of Akihiko Yoshida’s work, I also recommend checkng out the art books for Bravely Default and Tactics Ogre.

So good. Kinda evokes Yoshitaka Amano’s fairy tale vibe. Like you said, looks like a great resource.
