Ghibli Park Opening

After what seems like a very long wait since the announcement of it’s conception way back in 2017, the Ghibli Park was finally opened officially earlier this month on the 1st of November. Just like the Ghibli Museum, the park features a variety of exciting exhibits that showcase real life constructed locations of familiar places once seen only in Ghibli’s animated films and is sure to thrill and delight fans.

Here’s a small collection of art and illustrations drawn by Japanese animators and directors to celebrate the opening of the Park –

Are you planning to visit Ghibli Park ? I’ll likely be visiting Tokyo in spring next year, but because Ghibli Park is located all the way down in Aichi, it might just be too inconvenient/costly for me to visit. I guess we’ll see what happens next year !

Meanwhile, Japanese design/lifestyle magazine CASA Brutus has just released a special issue featuring the art and architecture of Ghibli to commemorate the opening of the park; here’s a sneak preview below. I’ve ordered a copy of the magazine and will review it in the coming week/s, so stay tuned !
