Anime director Shinkai Makoto ( 5 Centimeters, Garden Of Words ) collaborates with character designer Tanaka Masayoshi to create this commercial for Z-kai, a Japanese correspondence educational service. Check out the commercial below :





The story revolves around 2 high school students Miho & Shouta, who are preparing for their entrance exams to a Tokyo university by enrolling in a correspondence course with Z-kai. As always Shinkai Makoto’s sharp eye for identifying attractive locales translate into gorgeous backdrops in the commercial, but I also like the design and animation of the characters by Tanaka Masayoshi.
