One of the places that I really wanted to check out during my recent time in Tokyo was the Tsutaya Books store located in the swanky area of Ginza. I visit the store in Daikanyama every time when I’m in the city and when I was told that the Ginza store is even more fancy, I knew I had to take a look.
And fancy it is ! The deco is definitely really up there, but what is even more important to me is that the book collection here is really substantial. Check out more pictures below –
(above) A fully decked out Katsuhiro Otomo section, with all the latest titles from his Complete Works collection. Very nice.
(above) Some really lovely framed autographed prints of art work by famed manga artist/illustrators like Eguchi Hisashi and Yoshikazu Yasuhiko ( Venus Wars ).
Below – Autographed copies of the Special Effects Field Notes sketchbook by Shinji Higuchi, the director of Shin Ultraman. Higuchi is also a professional storyboard artist and his drawings are really good. I definitely recommend checking out the sketch book.
(image above) There was also a HERMES exhibit going on during my visit which looks pretty interesting.
A lovely Doraemon art piece done in ukiyo-e style I spotted at Tsutaya Books Ginza. Of course it’s sold out. pic.twitter.com/TmM2bn58Tx

Tsutaya Books Ginza Six is a fantastic bookstore with a huge selection of art books and I would definitely visit again the next time I’m in the city. If you’re in Tokyo, be sure to check it out if you’re into cool bookstores.
