Aquatic Wonderment, Nakano Station, Tokyo.

Posted By yonghow on June 2nd, 2012

How did I ever miss such an amazing piece of wall mural ? I used to cycle pass Nakano Station pretty often when I was living in Tokyo ( to visit Nakano Broadway ) but I don’t ever remember seeing this before. My mind must have been wandering.

I had myself a great time examining these amusing species of marine life, a culmination of tedious paintwork by some 300 kids, as signed off below. The mural was finished some 20 years ago.

Meanwhile, the world passes by us as we busy ourselves with our various concerns.

beautiful! the picture with the kid and the one with
the old man are very nice. They’d make good banner pics
for HR I think…
I find quite interesting the way the japanese deal with things,
I know thousands of similar places around my city but they’ll never be treated like that….

Really nice! Reminds me of Ponyo, one of my favorite Ghibli films.
