Light Hole - Kodansha Branded Film 講談社ブランデッドフィルム

A little while back, Japanese publishing house Kodansha released Light Hole, a paper mache animated short branding video for the company leveraging characters from some of manga’s biggest titles including AKIRA, Ghost In The Shell, Initial D, Attack On Titan and more. Check it out below –

In an era where we are endlessly assailed by woefully distasteful gen AI slop, delightfully hand crafted, human made animation as such are certainly a welcomed sight. Produced by GEEK PICTURES(ギークピクチュアズ), the spot was directed by Toru Katori and was selected by Kodansha from about 150 competing entries from all around the world.
