AKIRA REMIX Exhibition / Pop-up Store

To celebrate the release of the AKIRA REMIX soundtrack as well as the start of the phase 2 release of the Otomo The Complete Works, publisher Kodansha organized this exciting pop-up store event held at Tsutaya Shibuya, right next to the world famous Shibuya scramble crossing in Tokyo, Japan. The store will be open for a month from September 28th to October 27 2024.

On top of a small collection of original AKIRA anime cel drawings displayed, the pop-up store is also packed full of tasty Otomo/AKIRA merchandise like posters, T-shirts, manga titles and blu-rays. Check out the photos below ( courtesy of Shibuya Tsutaya’s official twitter account ).

It goes without saying that I wish I could have visited the store ! Unfortunately many of the merchandise on sale like the posters and T-shirts are only available within Japan.
