Kon Satoshi’s Paprika Pressbook

Posted By yonghow on February 21st, 2012

Stumbled upon this gem while I was going through some art books – the pressbook for Kon Satoshi’s Paprika. Movie pressbooks are unique to Japan, released for sale during the openings of films. You can read a little more here.

(above) The pressbook and ticket stub. I’ve uploaded a bigger version of the top image above for those who might want to use it for maybe a wallpaper. Grab it here.

And we’re all still waiting (hopefully) for Kon’s retrospective art book to be released.

Update : Kon’s retrospective art book is now available.

man, i am still really bummed about him. i would love to find a copy of this somewhere. my last trip to Japan yielded me a couple of his books, though i doubt i will be able to come accross something like this in a used bookstore or not make me have to pay too much for it. i am going to keep my fingers crossed about the artbook, still.

Zack – It’s definitely possible to chance upon this in the many 2nd hand bookstores in Tokyo, the BookOff Chains, for example.

There’s also this swell 2nd hand book store in Broadway Nakano that stocks ALOT of pressbooks and which I’m sure will carry this book. Unfortunately the last time when I was there (November 2011) they’ve relocated and I can’t find them ! They might still be in the vincinity, I hope.

Zack

i’ll mark it down and look in the fall
