While the rest of the world was going gaga over the Apple’s new and souped up 3G Iphone Coca Cola quietly rolled out its Green Tea Coke in Japan – I saw one in the local mart and bought it out of a mix of curiosity and novelty.
Says on the label the drink contains “Catechin”, an antioxidant that protects collagen and elastin fibres in the skin. Probably just sales gimmick; I’m just happy its catechin and not carcinogens.
Disclaimer : That spiffy green pouch in the background isn’t a promotional free gift from Coca Cola when you snag one of these but my DSLR camera bag. (made by my mom.) Sorry. I just thought the colors went well together.
Taste test : I honestly couldn’t detect any noticeable difference in taste on my first sip – upon subsequent tasting a very, very faint fragrance of green tea is detectable, but nothing spectacularly mindblowing. I think I’ll stick with regular coke.
And what’s your fav Coke ? Cherry Coke’s not too bad, but I absolutely detest Diet Coke ( or any other diet soft drink for that matter ) – it just takes the kick out of drinking Coke, no ?

Vanilla Coke has to be my fav! Sweet but richer in taste and great when chilled in a huge glass of ice!
Green Tea and Coke does sound interesting… 🙂

Vanilla Coke gets my vote but my favorite Coke Product is easily the Qoo line of soft drinks. Still… I’d like to try a sip out of this one.

jejeje in my country only normal Coke, or Diet Coke, but in some places you can found Cherry Coke but it´s not very normal.
I usually skip the Coke, it´s delicious, but everytime i can avoid it i do, in fact, people here drink so much Diet Coke with “Tacos” jejejeje ironic mix if you ask me…
Maybe that´s why so much people are chubbies… because of tacos+DCoke… well i think so XD
ps. i wish i can drink vanilla or cherry… i missed it when i went to japan 🙁

This must take nasty. Green tea doesn’t mix well with coke. In my opinion, vanilla coke also tastes extremely nasty

I was too intimidated to air my comments on the art and animation articles as I simply do not hold the years of experience to pass judgement on such beautiful works.
On Coca Cola’s fizzy drink range however I have A LOT to say.
As a non drinker and a rejector of the warm drinks genre (tea coffee etc) Coca Cola is a natural port of call for my parched lips.
First of all let me add my support to the notion that diet drinks should be removed from the shelves, there is nothing worse than the metallic clingy after taste of sacarine.
My Faves (in order of preference)
Vanilla Coke is rightfully top of the pile.
Followed by “hint of lime and lemon” rare these days it seems.
Cherry Coke deserves and honourable mention and never fails to give that extra fruity kick.
And then failing finding any of these on the shelves we always have our beloved “Regular” to fall back on, He’s always there somewhere, sometimes in can form, sometimes a bottle, always there waiting to rott our teef.

I don’t like Coke that much.
If I do drink soda, I usually like to get a clear soda. xP
But that Green Tea Coke would catch my attention. But if I had to pick a Coke to drink, then Vanilla Coke would be my choice.

Chanilla Coke is the best. Get Vanilla and Cherry 2 liters, mix em and voila. Orgasm in yo mouth

I don’t really like Coke, I’m more of a Pepsi girl. But I like citrus sodas, like Sprite or orange sodas more than I like colas. Sadly for me, my younger teenage years were spent drinking upwards of six cans of soda a day. That wasn’t good for my teeth or my waistline. 🙁
I don’t drink much soda at home anymore, but when we go out, I get it occasionally at a restaurant or as something to sip on.

If you can get me one bottle of each (vanilla, cherry and green tea) i´ll be deeply moved guys…

Get out of here with that Coke mess, the only coke that is even worth a mention is Cherry Coke. but other than that, Pepsi all the way. !!What’s this? ….. i seem to have a Pepsi right in front of me!! AHHHHH …. quite refreshing to say the least!!

I love original coke and still love it even now. May i add you to my blogroll?

Hmm, I was actually interested in trying out Green Tea Coca Cola!
As for favorite Cokes, I like Vanilla Coke the best, then Cherry Coke afterward (although I prefer Wild Cherry Pepsi to Cherry Coke).
I tried drinking diet Coke, but it didn’t settle too well in my stomach 🙁 Plus, it just tastes so bland 🙁 Bleh.

I’ve got a thing for vanilla coke, though overall, I’m not too big a coke person.
Shame the drink itself isn’t green though, that would have been spiffy

Japanese seems to have green tea flavour on pretty much any food, but this is a weird combination. Though I will give it a try if I ever have an opportunity.

The rival Pepsi will release “Pepsi Shiso[perilla]” soon(JP-LINK).
I’m looking forward to seeing your trying report, and verdict(^^).

Perilla flavor sounds interesting.
