Tatsuyuki Tanaka is one of my all time favorite artists, a creative genius that excels at illustration, concept art design as well as animation. Just earlier this year he released an instructional guidebook detailing many secrets of his trade – read my review for the book.

One of the many gigs that popular illustrators in Japan can expect to get are cover art illustrations for short novels, and Tatsuyuki Tanaka is no exception. Collected in this post are some of his cover art work for several novels published in the past few years –

It is interesting to note that the cover art for his own art book Cannabis Works 2 was actually a short novel cover art as well.

I hope the illustrations featured in this post will eventually find their way into his Cannabis Works 3 art book ( whenever that happens ) !
