Hellboy - The Midnight Circus Comic Book Fegredo

Hellboy artist Duncan Fegredo (Darkness Calls/The Wild Hunt/The Storm & The Fury) illustrates a beautiful back story (written by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola) for the world’s greatest paranormal investigator in “The Midnight Circus”, where a young Hellboy stumbles upon a weird and fantastical circus inhabited by demons.

Duncan Fegredo’s richly illustrated panels are a joy to look at and I was definitely pleased to see *spoiler highlight text to view*Astaroth as the instigator, although his battle for the Right Hand Of Doom was lost the day Hellboy ate those pamcakes.

The art is superb, miles better than Mignola’s, it’s a shame that the story was so short.

Oh no – this looks way too tempting. I just rewatched The Golden Army and now I see this… Call me shallow but I love little Hellboy.

Thanks for the reassuring tip on the weather in Tokyo btw. The exhibition sounds really cool, do keep me updated 🙂 Hope it happens, and you have a productive trip!
