Warning : The video and images in this post reveals potential spoilers if you haven’t played/finished the game.

Celebrated game studio Naughty Dog’s sublime The Last Of Us Part II remains one of the best games I’ve played in recent years, and I’ve revisited it 3 times now since my first play-through back in 2020. One of the most riveting and frightening encounters within the game has got to be Abby’s run-in with the grotesque infected boss known as the Rat King. This youtube video Art Of The Level by IGN explores the creation of this monstrosity through in-depth interviews with the artists working at Naughty Dog. Check it out below –

Below : Some concept art pieces of the Rat King as well as final model renders by Naughty Dog artists Sebastian Gromann and Danilo Athayde.
