Having worked on a Nissin Cup Noodle series of commercials/anime some years back, I’ve developed a soft spot for the noodle maker’s marketing videos, often featuring witty and whimsically creative themes.
This particular series celebrates the country’s all consuming love for manga and also their historical “samurai culture”, poking fun at them in the context of everyday life in modern japan.
Cup noodles have in recent times become synonymous with Japan, just like the samurai and Mount Fuji. Nissin has very successfully established a brand that is uniquely Japanese in identity, a celebration of the country’s rich cultural heritage.
