Guillermo del Toro : At Home with Monsters : Inside His Films, Notebooks, and Collections is a companion book to the famed director’s exhibition at LACMA ( Los Angeles County Museum of Art ), and possibly is the next best thing if you’re not able to attend the exhibition in person.

The book’s detailed interview with the director delves into the creative process of Guillermo del Toro and is accompanied by plenty of fascinating photographs from his giant collection of art and film memorabilia that makes up Bleak House. Also included are original illustrations by long time GDT collaborator Guy Davis, as well as numerous sketches by the director himself.

An engrossing read and a great opportunity to dive into the creative mind of this visionary director, at an affordable price of less than 20 bucks. Highly recommended.

I also highly recommend another book on Guillermo del Toro – Cabinet Of Curiosities, featuring his sketches.
