The latest Evangelion 3.0 film continue to astound me (read this older post here) with its spectacular animation and beautifully choreographed action sequences, although I had a little trouble following the narrative.

Utada Hikaru, one of my favorite Japanese singers, wrote and performed the theme song Sakura Nagashi for the film, and I’ve been listening to it non-stop after watching the movie. As the song played in my head I imagined sequences from the film that would cut beautifully with the music, and so I set out to make the clip below just for the fun of it. Enjoy !

The Japanese blu-ray for the film also comes with the original soundtrack. For Utada’s song, you’ll have to get her single. In the past the song will also appear in her latest album, but since she is still on hiatus that’s unfortunately not going to happen.
