As many of my blog readers might know, I am a big fan of renowned sculptor/concept artist Takayuki Takeya (竹谷隆之), a truly extraordinary artist who has crafted some of the most amazing creature designs for Japanese film/TV like Shin-Godzilla, Attack On Titan, the Giant God Warrior short film, and many many other tokusatsu productions.
Over the years I have seen many pictures of Takeya’s atelier, a fascinating workspace crammed full of his beautiful sculptural creations and collected treasures, but it is only now, thanks to a video shared on youtube by his daughter that we get to have a very intimate tour of his studio. Check it out below –
A truly fascinating and insightful peek into the creative workspace of this incredibly talented sculptor and concept artist. I very highly recommend checking out all his art books which showcase the amazing scope of his artistry.
