Venice is a stunning watercolor art book/manga illustrated by the late Japanese comic artist Jiro Taniguchi, who passed away in 2017. It’s one of a series of deluxe travel books endorsed by fashion brand Louis Vuitton.

In its pages the illustrations of renowned artists or promising young talents tell the stories of the cities or countries they have visited, depicting the varied architecture, maybe the special light of their chosen topic whilst recording the passing days and lives of its people.

Taniguchi’s superbly detailed drawings and delightful watercolors paint the exuberant Italian city in a most beautiful light; who won’t be tempted to see Venice after seeing these beautiful art work ? Readers who are familiar with Jiro Taniguchi’s manga would probably have noticed the striking similarity of this piece of work to Guardians Of The Louvre.

This art book is a splendid virtual tour of Venice through the gorgeous watercolor art work of Jiro Taniguchi. Recommended.
