The Art Of Star Wars series of books is something I always look forward to with every release of new Star Wars films. Just like one for The Force Awakens, The Art of Star Wars : The Last Jedi features a dizzying collection of astounding concept art created during the pre-production of the movie. Included are character designs and costume sketches, creature, environment and ship designs, storyboards and much more.
( above ) The unmistakable art work of the great Ian McCaig, who also worked on the prequels. Definitely check out his art book Shadowline.
Stunning costume designs for the character Lovey, a Canto Casino guest. This illustration in particular brings to mind the art work of Robert E.McGinnis.
Whether you enjoyed Rian Johnson’s interpretation of the Star Wars universe, there’s just no denying that The Last Jedi was a visually stunning film, thanks to the incredibly art team who created such amazing concept art. This book is easily one of my favorite for the year, and gets my highest recommendations.
