The Art Of Spiderman : Homecoming is a solid hard cover volume featuring a huge bonanza of concept art work created during the pre-production of the film. With just two primary characters to focus on – Spiderman and Vulture; ( and the supporting character Ironman ), the coverage on each main character is detailed and extensive, with plenty of costume design variations for Spiderman.

Also included are practical and concept designs for Peter’s webshooter, the Spider drone attached to his hi-tech suit, as well as weapons used by Vulture’s accomplices, Shockers, and much more. Set photography and stills take the back seat in this book and the bulk of the content is filled by actual concept art.

(above left) A moody concept piece of Vulture as he’s perched on the corner of a roof top. I worked on the VFX for this film and was lucky enough to get to light the CG version of the shot that was based off this particular piece of concept art. It’s going into my demo-reel once I get approval to use it. :]

A splendid art book for one of MCU’s most enjoyable capers, and one which delivered much more content than I was expecting. Recommended.
