Lost & Found (2011) is a collection of three illustrated short stories ( The Lost Thing | The Rabbits | The Red Tree ) by renowned Australian artist Shaun Tan. The Lost Thing was adapted into an animation short and won the 2010 Academy Award for animated short films.

I’ve been a fan of Shaun Tan’s beautiful illustrations ever since seeing his works up-close in person at the Welcome To Nowhere art exhibition held in Tokyo in 2019, and have been slowly acquiring his published works; here are some of his other books I’ve reviewed.

Shaun Tan’s talents as a brilliant illustrator is greatly complemented by his skills as a storyteller, with narratives that are mindful and thought-provoking; and this is no exception with Lost & Found.

Shaun Tan’s delightful art work are beautifully reproduced in this big hardcover volume, and makes for a very enjoyable read. Highly recommended.
