Published by Japanese film studio Toho, which owns the Godzilla IP, this Ultimate Illustrated guide charts the cinematic history and evolution of the King Of Monsters, starting from his first appearance in the 1954 film right up to more recent titles like Shin-Godzilla as well as the Hollywood Monsterverse versions. Every film title features a few pages of photographs, behind the scene stills as well as a brief synopsis of the story.

There’s certainly no shortage of Godzilla related publications out there both in the Japanese and English media, but for me the biggest draw and highlight of this particular book are the movie posters showcased with each film, especially the more vintage titles that are much harder to come by. If anything, this book serves as a perfect archive of these posters and make for excellent reference material on anything Godzilla related.

The perfect Godzilla visual guide book, definitely handy when you’re searching for any information or reference for any Godzilla film ever released. Personally, the movie posters featured alone are well worth the price for the book. Recommended.
