Adored by animation fans all over the world, Ghibli Studio’s boundlessly imaginative films have delighted both children and adults alike with their captivating stories and endearing characters.

Opened in late 2022, the Ghibli Park, located in Nagakute, Aichi is a wonderful extension of these films and just like the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Tokyo, the park features exhibits that transports the visitor right into the imaginative worlds of Ghibli’s animated movies.

This pocket sized soft cover guide book provides a great overview of the museum, with plenty of photographs showcasing the numerous attractions, including live-sized dioramas of scenes from popular films like Princess Mononoke, Ponyo, Spirited Away as well as the meticulously constructed houses from Whisper of The Heart and My Neighbor Totoro.

(image below) These two beautifully illustrated fold-out maps will surely come in handy when trying to navigate the expansive park grounds.

Although the book is written in Japanese language only, the many photographs, pictures and the foldout maps are still a great resource and reference/preview if you are planning a trip to Ghibli Park. The small pocket size book makes it easy to carry around, and the low price point is great as well. Recommended.

I also recommend taking a look at the December 2022 issue of Japanese lifestyle/design magazine Casa Brutus (カーサ ブルータス), with a special feature on the park and features some beautifully photographed images.
