Future Boy Conan ( 未来少年コナン Mirai Shōnen Konan ) is a 1978 anime series directed by Miyazaki Hayao, with other renowned directors like the late Isao Takahata and Yoshiuki Tomino contributing to storyboards/additional direction. This is Miyazaki Hayao’s directorial debut.

This little digest art book ( published way back in 1983; see image at bottom of post for print size reference ) is like a mini Roman Album with plenty of charming watercolor illustrations by Miyazaki Hayao.

A nice little art book to have if you love Miyazaki’s watercolor illustrations, as I do. There’s also a regular sized Roman Album book for Conan published in 2003; I’ve yet to see the contents of that one so I can’t compare the content with this book.

I also recommend some other mini art books illustrated by Miyazaki Hayao, like The Journey Of Shuna and Mushime To Anime.
