Frank Cho has been making ballpoint pen drawings purely for himself for over two decades. This is the first time that these rarely seen works have been captured in a dedicated volume. Compiled here are his favorites, many which were done specially for this book. Most pieces are shown in four stages and accompanied by Cho’s commentary to reveal his process. He is completely self-taught, which makes for a unique educational experience.
Included within the book are visual guides for drawing anatomy and body parts, plus a short interview where Cho discusses his working methods and answers the most common questions that he receives online. Also included are covers for his creator-owned comic Skybourne, where Cho has incorporated the ballpoint pen in a mixed-media format to show other artists how to incorporate this tool in commercial assignments.
I’ve long heard of Frank Cho’s name in the comics industry but have not actually read any of his comics before; this book is first time I’m picking up his published art work. The content is clearly adult oriented with lots of nudity, but all the art are done tastefully and the quality of his exceptional skills with the ballpoint pen speaks for themselves in the work –
Now that I’ve been introduced to Frank Cho’s excellent art work, perhaps I should explore more of his comics. For those in the market for some tastefully executed, high quality erotic art, this book won’t disappoint. Readers who are artists themselves will find Frank Cho’s approach to his work interesting as well. Recommended.

I highly recommend Frank Cho’s work. It’s some of the best comic-book art I’ve seen in a long time.
