Back in 2017 I reviewed the excellent Art And Soul Of Blade Runner 2049 book written by journalist Tanya Lapointe, who shadowed the creative/film crew over the 2 years of production as she documented their work.
Tanya is now back again with this new companion book Blade Runner 2049 – Interlinked – The Art, which puts full focus and emphasis on the huge scope of concept art design created during of the making of the film. Unlike her first book Art And Soul Of Blade Runner 2049, this hardcover volume features no production photographs or stills, but purely just concept art; all 224 pages of it.
This focus allows for much more expansive coverage on every topic covered in the book instead of just glazing it over; for example there’s about 10-12 full pages of concept art each on the Spinner vehicles as well as the Las Vegas set, as compared to about 4-6 pages in the first book.
I absolutely adore Blade Runner 2049, and the fondness grows on me every time I re-visit the movie. This new art book dedicated to just concept art is a perfect companion to the author’s earlier Art And Soul Of Blade Runner 2049 and comes very highly recommended.

I just watched the movie yesterday. I’m not in design but I liked the painting feeling in lights and background of the movie.
