Katsura-Zuroku Extended Version is a compilation of art work by Japanese illustrator/manga artist Masakazu Katsura, whose most famous works include Video Girl Ai and DNA², both of which gained widespread popularity during the early/mid 90s.

(above) Art work from his manga “Zetman”. Katsura-san is a self professed Batman fan and one can often see influences of the Caped Crusader in his work.

Katsura-san is also well known for his Shojo (young girl) illustrations, many of which often cross into risque/soft porn territory. (below) Illustrations from Video Girl Ai.

(above) The style of this particular illustration looks much more like that of Death Note manga artist Obata Takeshi; check out his impressive art book Blanc Et Noir.

Recently Katsura-san has also done character design work on the anime TV series “Tiger And Bunny”. There’s an excellent art book available, I’ll post a review in the near future.
