Winner of 2019’s Game Of The Year ( GOTY ) award, FromSoftware’s Sekiro : Shadows Die Twice is one of the best games I’ve played in recent years. While it is notoriously difficult, the gameplay and fight mechanics are just exemplary, and personally I also found the story’s exploration of Japanese mythology to be ceaselessly fascinating.
All these reasons are why I am extremely excited for the upcoming anime adaptation by studio Qzil.la, titled Sekiro: No Defeat. Check out the teaser trailer below –
From what I’ve seen in the trailer, the character designs look by and large very faithful to the original game; I highly recommend checking out the beautiful character designs and concept art showcased in the game’s art book ( read my review here ).
Another exciting highlight is that the main three cast members from the game will also reprise their roles, with Daisuke Namikawa as Wolf, Miyuki Satou as Kuro/The Divine Heir and Kenjiro Tsuda as Genichiro Ashina.
Sekiro: No Defeat is currently in production and is scheduled for a 2026 release, to be streamed exclusively on CrunchyRoll.
