Robot On The Road is a short anime film by Hiroyuki Okiura ( Jin-roh, A Letter To Momo ) and follows the journey of a seemingly harmless hitchhiking robot with questionable intentions. The film is one in the series of omnibus titles created by Japan Anima(tor), including the Patlabor Reboot and Evangelion : Another Impact. You can watch the short film below :

This book is a collection of the art work used during the production of the film and includes many keyframe drawings, character sheets, background art pieces and layout boards.

I’ve been a big fan of Hiroyuki Okiura since his amazing Jin-roh film so this quickly piqued my interest. I would have preferred that more pages of the art book be dedicated to the character sheets and background art, which unforunately is crammed into just a few pages and at a relatively small size. That said, the many layout pieces included looks amazing and I’ll still recommend this to fans of the director.
