Pink, the Color of Spring – Fallen Plum Petals in Ogikubo, Tokyo.

Posted By yonghow on April 20th, 2009

Fallen plum petals color the roads in a scattering of vibrant pink in Ogikubo, Tokyo, very close to my old workplace Sunrise Emotion Studios. ( and Madhouse, amongst several other animation studios in Suginami-ku. )

I used to cycle pass these trees everyday on my way to work, but their beauty seemed to have escaped me till now; sometimes you need look no further than your own backyard to discover many a pretty sight, as I suspect Shinkai Makoto has :

Seen anything beautiful lately ? :]

Haha, when I was looking at the photos I thought,
“Wow, that looks like one of Shinkai Makoto’s backgrounds.”
His artwork is really beautiful. =)
There are some white petals from some flowering tree around my school campus. It kind of cheers me up to see them when I walk to my classes. ^^

Darn. I knew I should have picked up that artbook back in Tokyo.

Yeah. Sometimes you just need to look at your backyard to discover something beautiful. Missing the fallen sakuras already. *Sigh*

Beautiful pictures!!!! I can’t wait to see more!

everything around us can be beautiful if we slow down our pace and look at it from a different angle.

the recent most beautiful thing I have seen lately is this super kawaii ojou-chan on the MRT home.

Just today at the train station, I noticed that yellow petals were falling on me. The tree behind me had small yellow flowers, about the size of droplets of water.
The morning sun shone through them making them glow like drops of glowing lights were floating through the air.
I wouldn’t have noticed if the train had not been delayed.
Seeing it reminded me of cherry blossoms…

Working long hours in the City deprives me from seeing much nature. I admire even the forcefully planted flowers that wouldn’t last another 2 weeks in their pots by my office entrance everytime I walk pass them. Hopefully it will get better as the weather warms up.

Until then, please work extra hard to get more pictures posted to keep some of us afloat! 🙂
