Art book publisher Rizzoli’s Monica Belluci is a huge hardcover photography book showcasing stunning pictures of the famed Italian model/actress by some of the most renowned photographers in the world, including Peter Lindbergh, Helmut Newton, Fabrizio Ferri, Richard Avedon, Ellen von Unwerth and many more.

Most international movie audiences will likely remember Monica Belluci for the role of Persephone that she played in the 2 Matrix sequels, but I was first introduced to her screen presence in 2000, when she appeared as the alluring Malena in Italian director Giuseppe Tornatore’s ( Cinema Paradiso ) film of the same name. Her captivating beauty, together with Ennio Morricone’s hypnotic soundtrack really left a lasting impression on me.

This book has been in my Amazon cart for the longest time and I’ve hesitated to get it because of the fairly high price, but I finally got a chance to browse through the book while in a Tokyo bookstore ( Aoyama Book Centre ) and I was quickly sold. The definitive Monica Belluci photography book; this gets my highest recommendations.
