Legend Of The Hungry Wolf (Garōden -餓狼伝) is a series of Japanese martial arts novels by Baku Yumemakura that have been in publication for the past 3 decades. The popularity of the novels has led to many adaptations in other media including a feature film, two manga by Jiro Taniguchi and by Keisuke Itagaki, as well as two video games.

The latest edition currently in circulation ( circa 2019 ) features cover art illustrations by famed Japanese illustrator/manga artist Katsuya Terada. Check them out below –

This isn’t the first time Katsuya Terada has taken on illustration work for the martial arts genre; back in 1997 he also illustrated a colored manga for the popular arcade fighting game Virtua Fighter.

Let’s hope these illustrations for Garoden find their way into his next art book, whenever that might be coming.
