Kelong Seafood Trip

Posted By yonghow on May 29th, 2011

Over the weekend I joined a group of friends for a seafood trip on a Kelong ( an offshore fishing platform ),  somewhere near the southern coast of Pulau Ubin island. Its about 15 minutes by boat from Changi Point Ferry Terminal.

(above) A caveat I spotted in the cabin – “Be banned from site” I take it that means getting thrown overboard, since we were out in open waters. Everyone was on their best behaviour.

It was close to sunset by the time we arrived. ( below ) The Kelong has a small sheltered area with enough space for maybe 2-3 tables that seat 12-13 each.

(above) A dutiful hound stands guard at the drop off.

(above) A hapless hunter tries his hand on a catch. Final count : zero.

…and dinner is served, with satisfied customers.

Nice trip. I’m salivating to see the crab. You should take me there next time.

I wasn’t aware that you are back in Singapore. I moved from Tokyo to Singapore last year. Let’s grab a bite sometime.

Irene – The owner (Mr Tan’s) contact no can be found in the comment above yours. I would say call about a week or 2 in advance if you are planning to go on a weekend.
