A pair of white Totoros (made of either porcelain or ceramic, me thinks.) I procured from the Ghibli Museum store during my recent visit. Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
(above) I just realized they kinda look like urinals from the angle I shot it haha – but If I’m not mistaken these are for gardening use – the hole at the bottom is for water drainage. Correct me if I’m wrong. Love the little stump it has for a tail !
(above) From the Ghibli Museum gift shop Mamma Aiuto ! ( its Italian I believe ? What does it mean ? ) Keep your eyes peeled for them if you’re visiting soon – but there’ll be a million other things you’ll be itching to buy, actually.

Good buy!
The correct translation for “Mamma Aiuto” would “Help mom!” (The battle cry of the air pirates, I guess.)

I think “Mamma Aiuto” is a weird way of saying, “Help, Mamma!”
I know its the name of a group from Porco Rosso at least 😀
And those are such adorable Totoros!

that’s awesome. i loved that place. i wanted so bad to buy the replica Porco Rosso plane. there was just so much whimsy to that place, i wish i would have gone with someone else so i could have had someone to talk to about everything.

Thanks for answering my question folks ! I’m guessing the name might have come from a line in Porco Rosso. Gotta rewatch the film one of these days.
Zack – Yes, the Porco Rosso plane is very tempting, as is the plane from Nausicaa. Unfortunately I can’t afford either one ! :[

When i visited Ghibli Museum i asked the lady if she could give me an extra bag, so i can keep it because i just love the Mamma Aiuto! line, that was 3 years ago now. :’)
The totoros are just sweet!

Love them!!! Are you currently in Japan or planning on visiting the museum in the near future? I am looking for a particular umbrella that were sold out during my most recent visit and I still want to have them, if there is any chance for you to help out it would be great!!!

Are you talking about the Tonari no Totoro umbrella, plain dark color outside but with a sky, sun and plants inside? I’m dying to find it. I couldn’t remember how much it costs though. Do you?
The only ones you can find on the internet are imitations on chinese websites…
