Dragon Fly 2 is the concluding volume to Japanese manga artist/illustrator Maeshima Shigeki’s highly successful graphic novel Dragon Fly, first published in early 2008. ( read the book review here. )

(below) The book comes with 2 double-sided foldout posters ( 4 illustrations in total ) at the front of the book.

At a little over 200 pages volume 2 is noticeable thicker than the first book. The contents seem to feature even more nudity and erotic imagery that’s clearly meant to titillate and is probably targeted to capture a bigger adult readership.

Most of the time I think the upper body strength of the artist’s female characters are pushing the physical limits of the human anatomy; though that is fairly common in Japanese comics and games. All that said the artwork is tastefully done and the quality of the illustrations are great.

(above) Only a single page at the end of the book features some character design sketches; more would have been great.

Fans of Shigeki-san’s who purchased the first volume will definitely want to pick this up. If you can’t get enough of his art work I also recommend his other art book Serendipity. ( read book review here. )
