Inoue Naohisa is a Japanese artist who has previously worked on Ghibli’s animated film Whisper Of The Heart, directed by Yoshifumi Kondō and written by Hayao Miyazaki. His story and paintings of The Day I Bought A Star was also adapted into a Ghibli Museum animated short.
This art exhibition held at the Bunkamura Gallery in Shibuya was to commemorate the 50th anniversary of his working career, and I was just lucky enough to be in the city at the time of the exhibition to see it.
To make things even better, Inoue-san himself was present during my visit, and I couldn’t miss the opportunity to get a personalized autograph on one of his art books that was on sale at the exhibition.
I’ll post a separate article for the review of this art book soon.
