I have to admit I’m not familiar with Junji Ito’s body of work although I’m definitely aware of his presence and reputation in the manga world; perhaps this art book is a good primer for me to start discovering his comics.

I am the same way. I am not overly familiar with his work, but very aware of his presence. I don’t do well with horror, but I have to say I am drawn to the art style.

Junji Ito is one of the best artist/ writers to do it imo.

cannot wait for Hiroshi Nagahama’s adaptation of “Uzumaki.”

this book is well worth the money if you are a fan of Ito’s work.

Chris – Some of his drawings makes me rather uncomfortable…perhaps that’s one of the reasons why I’ve been slow to warm to his work. Then again, maybe that is the intention of his works…

Kauf-Chat – Is this adaptation you mentioned a manga, or perhaps a film ?

yonghow — it’s a 3 episode anime that is going to air on cartoon network.
the trailer is very beautiful and atmospheric. b&w work done in the style of the manga.
