The first book from the Freedom novel series, which cover plot events happening in Freedom dvd 1 and 2. I’ll probably never get around to read it but for those who wish to immerse in a more detailed and elaborate world than the one featured in the anime series it might be an enjoyable trip. I wonder if you can find this in Kinokuniya Singapore ?
Meanwhile at work one of the production staff members was kind enough to check with me regarding the name I would like to see appear in the credits for the US Freedom dvd. For a while I was afraid they might just do a direct translation from my Japanese Kanji pronunciation(黄永豪); spelled “Kou Eigou” – but this is totally unrecognizable to anyone who knows me so I naturally opted for my english name “Vong yonghow.” I just hope they spell it right !

I can go check it out. just dunno which section to search….graphic novels? or japanese novels?

Thanks for asking. :] Its probably in the japanese novel section alright, if its there. Freedom isn’t really known in Singapore I think so the chances of them bringing the novel in is pretty small I guess.

If the novel is on the bestseller list in Japanese bookstores, Kinokuniya is likely to bring it in, at least at the Liang Court branch. They stock the latest light novels. Well, its good when you have otakus staffing the Japanese books section 😉
As for the kredits in the US release, just pray that they don’t spell your name in Klingon.
Btw, have you fixed the Asian font bug with the current wordpress release? Am thinking of upgrading my WordPress to 2.x but was worried that I would lose the current theme and also language support.

Hmm…the dvd’s selling pretty well, but I’m not sure how the novel is doing ha.
I’ve fixed the Japanese language support alright. You will need access to your mysql server where the wordpress account is hosted and do a little tweaking. I’ve also enabled Gravatars, but you already know that by now. :]

Nice looking book! I’ve been putting off watching Freedom for sometime. With everything I’ve seen and read about it I’ve got to check it out.

Fartboystinks – My Japanese friends told me the same thing haha, but I better stick to my english name for the credits. :p
Hello Otaku Surf ! Thanks for dropping by, and please check out Freedom when you have the chance. :]

Thank you for dropping by Akiraman. Are you a fan of Otomo perhaps ? I’m very sure the US version of Freedom that was just released last month has an English dub, but I’m not sure if there will be a chinese version though. :]

Hi there,
I caught the screening of Freedom Project during the Animation Festival and I thought it was excellent. I can’t wait to watch episode 5 & 6! I’m a huge fan of Akira too 🙂
I work at Kino 🙂 I’ll check to see if the novel has been brought in 🙂
Take care! And hope we’ll see more stuff from you during future anime festivals.

Hey Feli ! Thanks for attending Freedom’s screening. I apologize for the badly handled questions. :p
So you work at Kino ? Wow ! I love the Japanese artbooks section and page 1, there’s just so many books I wish I had the money to buy.
See you around ! :]
