I will be heading to the airport soon to catch my plane back to Tokyo, and with a mountain of work waiting for me back in the studio I doubt I will be able to write anything for a while, so I figured I said my thanks first.
A very big thanks to the dedicated folks from the Singapore Film Society who organized AN 2007, Dave, Vijay, Shirley, Gavin, and Nas ( screening room, I hope I got your name correct ) and everyone who turned up today to watch Freedom. I apologize profusely for the badly answered questions, and if I was unattentive to anyone. I really wished I had more time to chat with the people who came up to talk to me after the screening. I’m glad you guys enjoyed watching Freedom.
Animation Nation 2007 has only just started, you guys are in for many a great treat I am sure.
ps The release of the said final episode of Freedom is not official yet, so I very politely ask that the friends who now know the news keep it to yourselves. Yoroshiku Tanomu. :]
See you guys back in Tokyo very soon, with more news on Freedom.

Went to the screening today (had to go obsess over Dennou Coil before I remembered to drop a note) Saw DarkMirage and the rest but was too chicken to ask any questions, but thank you very much for coming down and answering those questions! I think interaction between actual anime staff and local anime viewers is a very important thing…
By the way, I kind of wanted to ask but didn’t – is *all* of the animation really 3D? Because in the ending credits I see an animation director (作画監督) and key animators (原画) credited to real 2D animators like Takashi Hashimoto, Koichi Arai and so on. Where do they come in? I think some of the background mob might have been animated by 2D but surely you don’t have so many animators for that sort of thing. I’m just curious. 😀 Please take your time to answer, you’re probably very tired…

Oh yeah, and I was sitting right behind your parents – they were really nice to have come all the way down to watch and I think your dad was filming you whenever you spoke. Your parents are really nice to be supportive of you about these things, I know if I presented something I worked on my parents wouldn’t come unless it was something “acceptable” like live-action or arthouse animation, not commercial anime…

Didn’t mean to floor you with that question, but I think it was a good answer anyway 😉
Glad to have caught up with you and your bro after the screening.

i was wondering why certain scenes shown in the commercials were different from the ones shown in the episodes. is there any specific reason?
one thing though the lack of spoiler tags means that we all know whats going to happen next. lol.

Great to have you here. And I think need to adjust the festival year by a millennium. 😉 Tell Morita-san hi from the Animation Nation crew!

w – Just like you mentioned, some parts of the mob scenes are indeed 2D animated. Its done mostly for minor characters that will only appear once or twice. We send out some of the work to other Sunrise branches that does 2D work, as well as Gonzo sometimes.
Windbell – I hope so ! :]
Jackson – I also missed my good friend’s wedding on the same night…
pk – I didn’t get to eat chicken rice after all…better luck next time !
Zero – Thanks for coming. :] I was lost for words alright. Didn’t seem like such a hard question now that I think about it, but there you go.
MistaYoH – Thanks ! You were stunned because we took too long to make and epsiode, or too short ?
tragic comedy – I will work hard ! :]
double – Thank you ! I made of fool of myself during the Q & A, but I hope you enjoyed Freedom at least.
Lss – You’re sharp ! :] Some changes were made for the commercials to make them easier to understand for those who didn’t watch the series I think.
Bakaboi – Thank you for coming !
Dave – Great to come back, thanks for inviting. Just told him Morita-san as he was going home. :]
