After being awarded the Grand Prix d’Angoulême ( Lifetime achievement ) in France last year, Otomo is back again this year at the Angoulême International Comics Festival, where his French publisher Glénat is organizing an exhibit of tributes to his work by 40 cartoonists/artists, including the incredible Kim Jung Gi ( image below ).
The official poster for the exhibition is illustrated by Otomo himself ( image above, note Kaneda’s bike on the lower right corner ).
Below is a preview of some of the artwork you can expect to see at the exhibition, which runs from the 28-31 January 2016.
